Bank of Japan's monetary base has reached a record high in May

The Bank of Japan announced that its monetary base - or the total amount of money that the bank issues the markets - has reached the end of May a new record high.
On Tuesday, the Bank of Japan announced that its monetary base amounted at the end of May, about 159 trillion 160 billion yen, or 1 trillion 590 billion dollars, which is 2.5% more than in April. This level is a record high for the third consecutive month.
