The leaders of Japan and African countries have agreed to work closely together to reform the UN

The leaders of Japan and African countries have agreed to cooperate closely in order to expand and reform of the UN Security Council.
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and the leaders of 10 African countries have reached an agreement about the talks in Yokohama near Tokyo on Monday.
Abe said that the reform of the UN Security Council is an important challenge facing the international community. He added that Japan is willing to cooperate on this issue with African countries.
The negotiators agreed on the need to increase the number of permanent and non-permanent members of the Security Council.
It is believed that Japan was planning to achieve in this meeting, the support of the African countries of their application for a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council in 2016.
